Scouts this week is going to see your patrol kidnapped (pretend), blindfolded, driven off and dumped by the side of the road – you don’t know where. All you have is your team mates, your wits, a map and an emergency rendezvous point (the Toft fish and chip shop). You know where you have to get back to (= chips) but at first you don’t know where you are or how to get to the emergency meeting point (= chips).
Can you use your map to work out where you are and make it to the chip shop?
If you make a mistake and go in the wrong direction or don’t make it back in time: no chips. There really is a lot at stake.
Meet at the village hall at the slightly earlier time of 7:30pm. Important. Please bring:
- A torch
- Warm waterproof coat
- £2 for chips
Even more important there is a major rule for this exercise: NO WALKING ON ROADS. You have to make your way to the chip shop cross country in the dark following the footpaths. NO WALKING ON ROADS.
(Note to parents: please see the separate email instructions which may address some of your concerns around this exercise)
